Have questions about Major Breakthrough? We’re glad you’re asking.
Major Breakthrough is designed to meet a unique moment in your teen’s life, and it’s natural to want to understand what makes this program different, how it works, and how we involve you along the way.
Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions parents and families ask before getting started.
And if you don’t see your question here, feel free to reach out — we’d love to help.
What ages is Major Breakthrough designed for?
Major Breakthrough is built primarily for high school juniors/seniors and early college students — a time when many young people face these big questions for the first time.
Does my teen need to know what they want to do before starting?
Not at all — in fact, that’s exactly why Major Breakthrough exists. Whether your teen feels uncertain, overwhelmed, or even just curious, we help them begin where they are and discover next steps that fit.
How long does the program take?
The guided experience is structured over six weeks, with a seventh session (Onward & Upward) scheduled about a month later to check in and help your teen keep moving forward.
What are the specific takeaways from Major Breakthrough?
Though everyone’s experience is highly personalized, every Major Breakthrough pathway results in:
A Best Work Statement
A Calling Statement
A Gifts Shortlist
Zone Insights
An AI transcript, including
Top Career Directions that match their True Self and Best Work
Top Majors that match their True Self and Best Work
Top Colleges and Universities that match their known parameters
Next Steps they can take for confirmation and acceleration
Most of this is documented into a PDF your young adult will receive after session six, called their Self Portrait.
Any of this work can be continued on your own through research or the use of AI.
How is this different from a career assessment?
Career assessments can be interesting — and sometimes helpful — but they’re often too generic to really guide your next step. Even the best assessments tend to pigeonhole you as a “type” of person, as if that could fully define you.
At Vocationality, we know you aren’t a type or a category — you’re radically specific and wonderfully unique. That’s why Major Breakthrough focuses on uncovering your individual Story, Calling, Gifts, and Zone, so your next steps are shaped by who you truly are.
Some exercises may feel like an assessment, but instead of giving you a label or type, they help generate personalized insights — insights that honor your difference and help you make decisions that fit.
How is this different from career coaching or counseling?
Career coaching or counseling can be helpful, but it often feels unstructured. We’ve worked with many clients who told us: “I went to 5, 10, 15 sessions and still didn’t know when I’d be ‘done.’”
Another challenge is that coaching and counseling often rely on you to know what questions to bring — and many people aren’t sure what to ask.
Major Breakthrough is different:
It’s a pathway, not an open-ended set of sessions. We provide clear structure and guidance: where to start, what to do next, and how to know when you’ve arrived at meaningful clarity.
Your Guide won’t ask, “What should we talk about today?” They’ll expertly walk you through a proven process we know leads to breakthroughs.
Do you guarantee a college major that fits my teen perfectly?
We guarantee that your teen will gain a much clearer picture of their Best Work — their Story, Calling, Gifts, and Zone — which will dramatically narrow down or clarify their best-fit college major and career direction.
We also guarantee that we’ll use all the True Self and Best Work clarity we gather to generate personalized AI career-matching and major-matching results.
Everyone begins from a different place, so the amount and kind of clarity will naturally vary.
Some teens emerge with a clear, specific major in mind.
Others gain priceless self-understanding and a framework to continue discerning — still a huge win.
Can I sit in on my teen’s program?
We don’t allow parents or guardians to sit in — and that’s intentional.
Teens need a safe, confidential space where they can reflect honestly, explore deeply, and speak freely, without concern for anyone else being present (even a loving parent).
Even our Guides can’t work with their own family members for this reason.
But parents are still an important part of the journey:
You’ll receive regular updates about what your teen is learning and suggestions for how you can support them.
Your teen may select you as one of their three Insight Partners — people whose feedback their Guide will invite.
After the core 6 weeks, you’ll have a Parents Chat with their Guide, designed to share key insights and help you continue supporting them.
Should I be concerned about my child’s privacy when it comes to the AI part of Major Breakthrough?
Great question — and no.
In session six, when we use our customized AI prompts to match your young adult’s True Self and Best Work discoveries with the career directions and college majors that match them best, we never upload anything with their name connected to it.
Why does Major Breakthrough cost what it does?
Major Breakthrough is one of a kind — a highly personalized, structured pathway to Best Work clarity, specifically for teens and young adults.
We could price it like a premium service, but our goal is accessibility.
We want this work to reach as many families as possible — because we envision a world where more careers align with people’s true design and difference.
The pricing reflects:
The expertise and care of our exceptional Guides,
The depth and quality of the program,
And more than a decade of development behind this proven pathway.
We strive to ensure that the value you (and your teen) receive is at least 2x the price — and ideally 10x — in what it unlocks for their future.
